If a code you printed suddenly sends people to an error page, a parking page, or an "upgrade your plan" screen — you're not alone, and your printer didn't fail. In most cases, the code was turned off on purpose.
Many "free" QR generators quietly make every code dynamic: instead of encoding your link, the code points at their server, which redirects to your link. That's how they offer editing and scan counts — and how they create leverage. When the free trial ends, they disable the redirect. The ink on your menus didn't change; the server behind it just stopped answering.
Honestly: a dead dynamic code can only be revived by the company that owns the short link — usually by paying for their subscription. Nothing else can rescue that exact printed code, because it physically points at their domain. If you're reprinting anyway, make this the last time:
