The short version: QR codes are generated on your device — the content you type never leaves it unless you choose a feature that needs a server (an account, saved designs, dynamic codes, or the API). We don't sell data, we don't show ads, and we don't use third-party trackers.
The generator and scanner run entirely on your device. The text, links, WiFi passwords, and contacts you encode are processed locally and are not sent to our servers. Images you scan or add as logos are processed locally too.
When you export a code, the app sends us a single anonymous counter event containing only the kind of code (e.g. "url" or "wifi") — never its content. Standard web server logs (IP address, user agent) may be processed transiently to operate the service.
Sign-in uses Google or Apple. We store: your name, email address, avatar URL, and the provider's account identifier — plus what you create in 1QR:

A dynamic QR code points to a short 1QR link that redirects to your destination. When someone scans one, we log: date/time, country (from the network route), device class (mobile/desktop/tablet), and operating system. We do not store the scanner's IP address, precise location, or identity. This analytics data is shown only to the code's owner.
Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers; we store only your Stripe customer/subscription identifiers and plan status.
The camera is used only when you open the scanner, and images are decoded on-device. Nothing from your camera or photo library is uploaded.
We host on GearHost (web/API/database) with Cloudflare in front of the site, use Google/Apple solely for sign-in, and Stripe for billing. Each processes data only as needed to provide the service.
Account data is kept while your account is active. You can delete individual designs, mini-pages, dynamic codes, and API keys in the app at any time. You can also delete your entire account yourself: open your account in the app and choose "Delete my account & all data" — this immediately and permanently erases your designs, pages, dynamic codes and their scan history, and API keys, cancels any subscription, and removes your account record. You can also contact us at the address below and we'll complete a deletion within 30 days.
1QR is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
